Description

The light expandable hose, done properly.

✓ Stretches to full length when the water's on and shrinks back when you're done
✓ Light enough to carry the full length in one hand
✓ Far fewer kinks and tangles than a rubber hose
✓ 3-layer TPE inner tube inside a woven sleeve
✓ Brass-finish metal fittings and a metal spray gun with trigger lock
✓ A complete kit: hose, spray gun and tap connector, plus thread tape (30 m and 45 m) and a soil moisture meter (45 m)

What's in the box

Every kit: expandable hose (7.5 m at rest, 22.5 m extended · 10 → 30 m · 15 → 45 m), metal spray gun with adjustable nozzle and trigger lock, tap connector for 1/2" and 3/4" taps. 30 m kit adds: leak-stop thread tape. 45 m kit adds: leak-stop thread tape, soil moisture meter and stolen parcel cover.

Shipping & delivery

Tracked delivery across Australia: $7.95 on the 22.5 m kit, free on the 30 m and 45 m kits and on any order over $150. Most orders arrive in 6–10 business days. You'll get your tracking link by email as soon as your kit ships.

Warranty & returns

12-month warranty: covers manufacturing defects in normal use, such as a leak, crack, burst or broken fitting. Email us your order number with a photo and a short video of the defect, water on, and we'll send you a replacement, usually with no need to post the old one back. Water pressure: lengths are reached at 0.3 to 0.8 MPa (3 to 8 bar). Below 0.2 MPa the hose won't reach its full length; this isn't a fault and isn't covered. 30-day change of mind: the kit must be unused (never connected to a tap), complete and in its original packaging, and sent back after our approval. Return postage is at your cost. Faulty, damaged or missing a part? That's on us: send a photo and we'll replace, repair or refund, and cover any postage. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Full conditions are in our Refund policy.

Care guide

Turn the water off at the tap after use, let the hose drain, and store it out of direct sun. Ten seconds, every time. It's what makes the difference between one summer and many.

Connect it to your tap, turn it on, done. No extra trip to the hardware store.

The everyday struggle

Stop wrestling your hose.

Heavy rubber that kinks, cracks in the sun and never coils back the way it came. You know the one.

A classic heavy rubber garden hoseYour old hose
  • Heavy to drag
  • Kinks every few metres
  • Goes hard and splits in the sun
  • A tangled pile by the tap

“More time untangling the hose than watering the garden.”Sound familiar? It's the complaint we read most about heavy hoses.

Why most expandable hoses fail

We know why the cheap ones give up. So we started there.

Most expandable hoses fail in the same places: plastic fittings that crack or pop off, a thin inner tube, a tap connection that leaks, and nobody to call when it goes. Here's what we did about each.

Aôlives metal spray gun and coiled hose
Brass-finish metal
3-layer TPE inner tube
Woven fabric sleeve

Metal fittings, not painted plastic

Brass-finish metal at the tap and at the gun, where cheap hoses use gold-coloured plastic that cracks under pressure.

A 3-layer inner tube

Three layers of TPE inside the woven sleeve, where many cheap hoses rely on a single thin latex tube, the part that usually gives out first.

A seal that holds at the tap

One connector for both 1/2" and 3/4" Australian taps, plus leak-stop thread tape in the 30 m and 45 m kits to seal it properly the first time.

A warranty that works

If your hose fails in normal use within 12 months, send us a photo and a short video. We send you a new hose, usually with no need to post the old one back.

Care guide

Ten seconds after watering. Years of difference.

Expandable hoses that last all have one thing in common: they're never left full, under pressure, in the sun. Here's the whole routine.

01

Turn off at the tap

Never leave the hose under pressure with the gun closed. It's the number-one reason expandable hoses burst.

02

Let it drain

Squeeze the gun for a few seconds until the hose empties and shrinks back.

03

Store it in the shade

A pot, a bucket, the shed. Sun and heat age every hose fastest, and the Australian sun most of all.

Why Aôlives exists

We were tired of hoses that don't last.

Every summer, the same story: a heavy hose you dread dragging out, or a light one that leaks by autumn. We started Aôlives to make the light one properly, with metal fittings, honest lengths and a warranty with real people behind it. We're a small, independent brand. If something isn't right, you'll be talking to us, not a call centre.

A garden tool should make you want to go outside, not dread it.

Good questions

Before you order, the straight answers.

Why does it cost more than the ones at the hardware store?

Two $40 hoses a year is $80, every year. Ours comes as a complete kit with metal fittings, a 12-month warranty and real people who reply. Buy it once, and look after it in ten seconds a day.

Does it make a good gift?

It arrives as a complete kit, ready to connect. A practical gift for anyone who loves their garden but not their heavy hose.

What if something's missing or damaged on arrival?

Send us a photo as soon as you notice and we'll send the missing or damaged part straight away, at no cost to you.

Are the fittings solid brass?

No, and we'd rather tell you. They're aluminium with a brass finish: light, rust-free, and far stronger than the gold-painted plastic on many expandable hoses. One tip: wrap thread tape around your tap before connecting. It seals the thread and stops the fitting sticking to a brass tap over time.

Isn't an expandable hose going to burst?

Honest answer: cheap ones often do, and usually for the same reasons. Plastic fittings, a thin inner tube, a leaky tap connection, or being left full and under pressure in the sun. We use brass-finish metal fittings and a 3-layer inner tube, include a 10-second care routine, and cover the hose for 12 months. If it fails in normal use, we send you a new one.

How long is it really?

Each kit is named by its full length when stretched by normal mains pressure: 22.5 m, 30 m or 45 m. At rest it's a third of that: 7.5 m, 10 m or 15 m. Low water pressure means a little less stretch, so pick the kit that reaches your furthest corner without being at its limit.

Will it fit my tap?

Yes, for standard Australian garden taps: the connector takes both 1/2" and 3/4" threads. Wrap the thread tape (in the 30 m and 45 m kits) around your tap thread for a leak-free seal. If you use click-on fittings from another brand, check they match before ordering.

Can I use it with a sprinkler or a pressure washer?

It's designed for hand watering and cleaning. For a sprinkler that runs for hours or a pressure washer, a classic rigid hose is the better tool — we'd rather tell you now.

Where does my order ship from, and how long does it take?

Your kit ships from our partner warehouse with tracking. Allow 6–10 business days to most Australian addresses. You'll get your tracking number by email.

How does the warranty work?

If your hose fails in normal use within 12 months of delivery, email us a photo and a short video with your order number. We send you a new hose, usually with no need to post the old one back.

Is it light enough if I have sore hands or shoulders?

Yes. Everything in the box, gun included, weighs about 1.1 kg for the 22.5 m kit and about 1.65 kg for the 45 m kit. It shrinks back on its own, so there's nothing to wind, and the trigger locks open, so you don't have to keep squeezing.
